Favorite Things Friday

Again, this week my post comes a little late. My husband took my camera this morning to a job site to take "before" pictures, so I had to take pictures when he got home.

I love love love my diaper bag! Sounds funny, but I really love this bag. I have gone through sooooo many diaper bags over the years with three babies, and I have to say this is my favorite!

I custom ordered it from Polka Dot Bag Boutique. It is handmade, and it didn't take long at all to get. She makes all kinds of things, and has a little bit of everything. You can match all your baby accessories with the same fabric and style. I just love all the little ribbons tied on the top and the fabric is so unique.

She monogrammed my daughters name on it and it looks too cute! I would always get frustrated with other diaper bags when I would have to stack everything from the bottom. This bag holds EVERYTHING, and I feel organized! I put all my stuff in the side pockets and the diapers on the bottom.

I don't know about you, but I am ALWAYS having sippy cups spill all over my diaper bag. After I finally realize it is there, it smells like old juice. I know sounds gross, but you moms out there know what I am talking about. Well it happened once already with this one, and I mean juice everywhere. I just took everything out, and washed it in the washer on the hand wash cycle, and let it air dry. It looks like new. She sent washing directions with the bag, so I would go by what she suggests because some washers might be different. Anyway, I think I am going to order the matching wipe case and a beach/ pool bag. They are too cute. So when you have a chance check out her site I bet you will love it!

Show Us Where You Live Friday

Delilah & Celeste's Room

Kelly, over at Kelly's Korner hosts a home tour every Friday called Show us Where You Life Friday. I'm going to do mine today, but will post a link to it tomorrow on her site. Every week she asks people to post about different rooms in their house. This week is Nurseries & Children's Rooms.

First I must explain our house, we originally rebuilt this house to sell, but we couldn't immediately find another house we liked, and I fell in love with this house when it was all finished, so we decided to stay here for a while. Lilah and Celeste share a room although only Lilah sleeps in there. So this week I will show their room.

They decided on hot pink as a paint color, and the original plans were to have glitter in the paint, but I just imagined it all over the floor, and decided against it.

I wanted to get them a quilt for their bed and I found this one at Target and I love it! We went to Disney World during Christmas and New Year's and the only thing Celeste wanted was that Minnie Mouse pillow. She absolutely loves it.

This piece of furniture was hand painted by my grandmother. It used to be in her bedroom, and recently my grandfather gave it to me, and I will treasure it. It is so special to me, and beautiful. The tea set on top was given to Delilah from my mom, and the baby in the picture is Celeste. So sweet!

Lilah was painting one day at home and when she finished I thought her paintings were so beautiful and matched her room. I bought these frames and hung them by the bed.

I didn't want to put curtains over the windows but I wanted something decorative over them, so I found these for only $7 and they look great.

They each have their own dresser and this one is Celeste's...

I really wanted white furniture, but my husband just knew that it would get written on.
So we decided on this cherry furniture and I have to say it was a good choice. Here is Lilah's dresser.

The Disney TV is sooo big... its time to get a smaller one. I wonder if they make a pink LCD? Anyway its great so they can watch movies in their room. I'm not really a fan of toys ALL over the room, so I like to hide them in containers under the bed or in the closet, but here is their kitchen and a few toys.

When I was taking these pictures the girls wanted me to take one of their Christmas present, and a little girl snuck into the picture...

Well I hope you enjoyed the tour of my girl's room. The next room I think is the master bedroom, so I'll do that one next time.

Remember tomorrow is Favorite Things Friday! See ya then.

Strawberry Delight

Every time our family gets together for dinner someone always asks me to make a dessert. I love to cook and bake so I can make a lot of different desserts, but it never fails everyone always wants a Strawberry Delight. I can't blame them, because this dessert is soooo good you will catch yourself eating it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is served cold and would be great for hot days during the summer. Now, I can't take full credit for this recipe. It comes from my pastor's wife who got us all started on loving this dessert. I changed just a few things to make it how I like it. I wanted to share it with all of you, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. This is the finished look...

This is what you need:

I cup of flour

3/4 cup of crushed pecans

1 stick of margarine melted

1 8oz. package of cream cheese

1 cup of powdered sugar

16 oz. of cool whip

1 3.9 oz box of vanilla pudding

2 cups of cold milk

1 10oz carton of frozen strawberries in glaze (thawed)

1 package of strawberry glaze

1 container of fresh strawberries

Ok...here's how to make it...

* with a spoon, stir together melted margarine and flour. Then add pecans. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9 x 13 glass baking dish and bake at 350 for about 10-15 min (until golden brown)

* In a bowl mix together (with a hand mixer) cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy. Then add HALF of the container of cool whip (8 oz). Set bowl aside

* In a separate bowl mix together vanilla pudding and cold milk until pudding is pudding like (only way I can describe it). Then pour pudding into bowl with cream cheese mixture. Mix together and set aside.

*In a separate bowl mix carton of frozen (now thawed) strawberries and 3/4 of the package of strawberry glaze together.

Now its time to put it all together.

* Pour cream cheese/pudding mixture over pecans in the dish. Next pour frozen strawberries and glaze on top. Then put the remaining cool whip on top of everything. Cut up fresh strawberries and layer on top of cool whip.

Like I said this is super good, and I promise everyone will love it!

Swimming Fun on Sunday

This morning Celeste and I woke up before 7 and she helped me make the pot of coffee and some cinnamon rolls. We got ready for church, and I attempted to get a picture on the porch. Trinity would not give up the old cell phone and Lilah was too busy picking out her purse inside.

I love this picture...again, she wouldn't let go of that phone...

After church the girls really wanted to go swimming in their little pool outside. They ran inside to change and they couldn't hardly wait while I was filling up the pool. Even Trinity enjoyed the water. I was able to fix lunch while they were outside playing. (yes, I was watching them. There are windows in the kitchen that are right in front of where they were playing. Just in case anyone was wondering.)

Trinity climbed in the pool with her onesie before I had a chance to change her, but I figured that it would probably keep the sun off of her better. The girls splashed and sprayed each other with the water hose.

Trinity got tired of swimming so she decided to go for a ride in her jeep...

After they ate lunch the girls enjoyed Popsicles outside...

...until Lilah heard thunder

I think we are going to have an afternoon thunderstorm...love it!

Fun Day Friday

Texas State Aquarium

Since summer is here and Lilah is out of school I try to do as many fun things through out the week to keep their little hands busy. Instead of Favorite things Friday, this week will be Fun Day Friday. I will post on either one every week. Today's post is coming a little late because I have been soooo busy today. We slept in a little bit this morning (8:30 late for me) and got ready to go to the Texas State Aquarium. Since Corpus Christi is a small city there is not really much to do, but the aquarium is a lot of fun and the girls love it. We met grandma there and as soon as we got there the girls were in need of a potty break (never fails). So here is Trinity waiting for her sisters to hurry up.

I wanted to get a nice picture of my girls in front of this wall, but after several pictures this was all I could get.

Celeste found the seahorses and she turned to me and said "look mamma, I see the sweehorses". So cute, we had to take a picture.

We walked by a large fish tank and much to our surprise there was a man feeding the fish from inside the tank and he stopped to say hello to the girls. They loved it.

At our next stop we found Nemo and all his friends. Again, the picture turned out crazy...the girls wouldn't be still, they were too excited.

Then Trinity decided to take a break for a sip of a lime sonic slush.

Finally we made our way to Dolphin Bay to see the dolphin show. We waited...

and waited...
And finally it began...Trinity was more interested in eating her snack than looking at the dolphins. (I tried to get the girls with the dolphins jumping, so you have to look closely)

Then we had some fun on the playground...

As we were leaving I wanted a picture of my girls in front of the aquarium with the harbor bridge in the back. Again, not everyone was looking. Its ok...they still look beautiful.

We had such a fun day, and it was a great way to start off the summer. I look forward to many more days like this with the girls.

One more thing...when we got home they sky looked like this...

and we got some much needed rain. I even heard thunder and saw lightning. Praise the Lord!

Graduation Girl

Today my beautiful Delilah graduated from Kindergarten. She had a ceremony in her classroom this morning and received her diploma. Lilah was so excited, and I was a proud mama.

Her teacher, Miss Edwards, was such a wonderful teacher, and did a great job teaching Lilah this year.

Me and my big girl...

Me, Lilah, and Trinity in her classroom...

This year flew by so fast. This is Lilah on her first day of school and her last.

She told everyone today that she is no longer in Kinder. She is a 1st grader!

Following in Sister's Footsteps...Good Thing or Not?

Before I had children I never understood why other parents always had marker on their walls, or drawings on their furniture. I always thought "that looks so ugly, and I will never allow my children to color on anything except paper." I can honestly say I succeed with my first daughter. Delilah NEVER colored on anything, but paper. She loved to sit down and color in a coloring book when she was little. Even now, she likes to have a pile of paper and pretend she is "working". I always joke that Lilah will either be a school teacher or a Secretary because she loves to write on paper so much.

When my second daughter Celeste was born she was the sweetest baby ever, she still is, but she can tear up my house in 30 seconds flat! My husband calls her the Texas Tornado. When she was about 18 months we started to completely remodel a house we had. Our original plans were to sell after we finished it, but we never found another house we liked so we just moved in this one. We plan to build within the next couple of years, but more on that later. This house was completely rebuilt and everything in it is new, I mean EVERYTHING! It seems like as soon as we move in this beautiful house Celeste began to write on everything. Yes I said WRITE! The very thing I said my children would never do. Horrible, I say. Let me just show you the damage.

She started on the walls in her room...

Then she decided to draw on her blinds and window seal...

Then the doors...

Then the play kitchen in her room...

Then she drew on her furniture in her room...

She made her way to the kitchen to write on my new cabinets...

and I think I was the most upset over this...

My very beautiful, very expensive bed...

She finally stopped drawing on EVERYTHING in my house. If you ask her now "what are you only allowed to draw on Celeste?" She will say "paper". Thank you..its all over, now we can paint, and fix all the marker in the house..so I thought...

Trinity was very quiet in the room...and then I saw it...oh no its happening again.

(excuse a few things while watching this video, the mess in the background, and my "mommy talk") Watch till the end...so funny!
